I’m sorry, but updating this blog has become a little bit of a hassle, so I am discontinuing to write on it. Thanks to everyone who read my blog.
Sorry
John Q
When his son collapsed in a baseball game, John Quincy Archibald(Denzel Washington) finds out that his son needs and operation because his heart is too big. The hospital denies his insurance card, and him and his family is having a tough time making ends meet already so he takes matters into his own hands. He takes the hospital hostage until his son gets what he needs. When there he actually runs the hospital the way it should be run, minus the gun. This movie was one of my favorite dramas. It is touching what he would do for his son. 8.5/10
Behind Enemy Lines
This movie is based on a true story. When Lt. Chris Burnett(Owen Wilson) and his partner are doing a routine mission, they see some curious activity in neutral zone. They see some Russian troops and begin to take pictures. The Russians shoot them down and when his partner is shot in the head, Chris must run from the Russians. Later on he realizes that the group of Russians broke a peace treaty by massacring a whole village. There plane’s camera got pictures of the graves, and so Chris must race against time to get the pictures. At the same time Admiral Leslie Reigart(Gene Hackman) must go against direct orders in order to get Chris out of Russian territory. This movie had a very good story line, but half of it is just Owen Wilson running away. The other half though, is good fighting scenes and close calls that keep you on the edge of your seat. Watch it:probably yes 6.5/10
Terminator Salvation
In the fourth to the very successful series, the machines have taken over after what has come to been called judgement day. The few survivors are fighting the machines, among them the prophesied, yet not fulfilled leader, John Conner(Christian Bale). When on an ambush, Connor’s team uncovers a testing area holding live humans that are going to become the next models of terminators. The team is attacked and only Connor survives, and also explosions awaken a man who has been in a coma since a year before judgement day, Sam Worthington(Marcus Wright). Sam finds himself in an unfamiliar world and meets a young boy, Kyle Reese, who is unknown to the others John Connor’s father (it makes since if you’ve seen the other movies). When Sam and John’s paths cross, they must trust each other because Sam may be their last hope. The other three films got a little repetitive with all the time traveling and two travelers being sent back (one to protect and one to kill), but this one doesn’t do that. It shows what actually happens after Judgement Day. There is not five minutes without a shooting scene or explosion, and they are all pretty sweet. Watch it: yes 7.5/10
The Sixth Sense
When a psychiatrist named Malcom Crow(Bruce Willis) is assigned to a young boy, Cole(Haley Joel Osment), he thinks it is just another personality disorder. But as they talk and get to know each other, Malcom discovers something very spooky. Cole can see dead people. Also Malcom must deal with some of his life issues and eventually learn about himself. This movie wasn’t really scary just creepy. It was a good thriller though and had a very good, yet surprising ending! Watch: Yes, but if you expect it to be scary don’t get to excited 7/10
2 fast 2 furious
When letting the leader of the street gang go in the fast and the furious,ex-cop Brian O’ Connor(Paul Walker) is on the run from the law. He made his way to Miami where he participates in street races. Eventually the law catches up to him and he is caught, but can clear his name and get his badge back by exposing a drug cartel leader. He brings his old friend Roman Pearce along for the ride. This movie seemed to have a lot more sweet cars and racing, which I think is the point of the series. There is also some good action scenes and a plot that actually seemed more interesting than the first. Watch: Yes, if you like tricked out cars and fast racing. 8/10
2,000 hits!!!
wow I got to 2,00 a lot faster than 1,000!
Meet the Browns
When a struggling single mother finds out that the dad she never knew she had dies, she goes down to Georgia for the reading of the will. There she meets the strange family she never knew she had, the Browns. She must also deal with unfriendly family, her son getting into trouble, and a budding relationship with ex-basketball player Harry(Rick Fox). This movie was horrible! There was almost no funny parts. It was a major Chick-flick. The only good thing was a cameo by Madea and Uncle Joe. Watch: NO! 4/10
Note: The show that is out now on TBS based on this movie actually looks interesting and funny.
Madea’s Family Reunion
In this movie Tyler Perry resurrects his memorable role and character Madea from Diary of a Mad, Black Women(which I still have yet to see). There is three stories going on through the movie. Madea, who is facing jail time for taking off her house arrest bracelet, takes in a troubled foster kid instead of going to jail. One of her nieces is having second thoughts about a wedding because of an abusive fiancé, and her other niece is having trust issues in her relationship because of a troubled childhood. Eventually they all meet up at a family reunion. I know it sounds like a cheesy drama, but it is actually a very funny movie. Tyler Perry has a way with taking tough topics and making them funny. He also plays Uncle Joe, and Brian(the only normal character he portrays). Uncle Joe and Madea are Hilarious! Watch: If your okay with a little romance stuff then YES!! 7.5/10
Minority Report
In the future there is a test being done in the Washington D.C area, and it is called precrime. Three people created by mistake, called Pre-cogs, can see into the future and predict murders and other crimes. The pre-crime unit uses them to stop murders before they even happen. When the Chief John Anderton(Tom Cruise) who is battling some inner demons sees that he is to kill someone he doesn’t even know, he must run from the law. All the while trying to figure who set him up, who the person is, and try to prevent the murder. Although this move is very very weird it also has a very interesting plot, and good action scenes. It keeps you on the edge of your seat and wondering until the end. 9/10
